What's the best thing that ever happened to you?

When you try to answer
and nothing comes out.

When you have spent all your life as one,
a single entity,
surrounded by nothing more than oblivion
and empty walls of silence.
When you think you had too much
but, at the end, you had nothing at all.

You look back and see:
a life of opportunities that you have missed,
all the things that you haven't done,
all the words that were left unsaid.
That time has passed by,
and you had no one to hug and to dry your tears.

You then sit, on a distant corner of your life,
looking to the space on the other side of the hall,
and cry...
...alone.
